PUBLIC POLICY MEETINGS
EARLY LEARNING ADVISORY COUNCIL (ELAC)
ELAC was created by the Legislature in 2007. ELAC representatives from around the state meet regularly to provide input and recommendations to the Department of Early Learning so our strategies and actions are well-informed and broadly supported by parents, child care providers, health / safety experts and interested members of the public.
ELAC Meetings
The Early Learning Advisory Council meets quarterly. At each meeting, ELAC members get updates on DEL's work and provide input and recommendations to DEL. ELAC is tasked by the Legislature with creating a statewide early learning plan.
The Early Learning Action Alliance (ELAA)
The Early Learning Action Alliance (ELAA) is a dynamic, growing coalition of organizations representing a diverse array of Washington nonprofits, professional associations, businesses and industries. We are united by the belief that all children in Washington state deserve to have the opportunities and support they need in their first five years of life to be prepared for school and a bright future.
2015 Legislative Session
The 2015 legislative session begins on January 12, and ELAA is gearing up for an important year. With it's well-documented return on investment, quality care in the first five years of life lays the foundation for our children's success in K-12. ELAA's legislative agenda for 2015 includes investments in kids ages birth to five, raising revenue, and passing an Early Start Act.

The purpose of WSFCCA Public Policy is to educate, protect and give status to family child care providers. Through publications, meetings, training and networking, child care providers are kept informed of issues pertaining to child care. WSFCCA is a means of bringing the concerns and voices of all providers together in order to share ideas, resources, and to problem solve.
